Substation Designer at Sargent

Join Sargent & Lundy as a Substation Physical Project Designer, specializing in high-voltage designs. Collaborate with a team to produce detailed substation engineering drawings.
This role involves working within a project team to design high and extra high voltage substations. Candidates need extensive experience, with at least 15 years in substation physical design. You will prepare critical drawings, interface with clients, and lead field walkdowns while applying relevant codes and standards in project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare General Arrangement and Equipment Plans
• Conduct technical review of design deliverables
• Interface with clients and contractors during field walkdowns
• Supervise design deliverables and mentor junior staff
• Develop cost-effective design strategies and calculations
Requirements:
• 15+ years of substation physical design experience
• Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and MicroStation
• Ability to visualize equipment details in 3D
• Associates Degree in Drafting or relevant experience
• Familiarity with Bentley Substation and other CAD tools
