BAS Project Engineer – Ainsworth Inc Job Summary The BAS Project Engineer is the continuation of the BAS Designer’s career at Ainsworth. The individual will work with the construction and service teams and is defined as BAS Engineering 3, with a pathway to promotion to BAS Engineering 4 (Senior) during the annual increase period, subject to recommendation from the Engineering Manager, Project Manager, Service Supervisor, and/or BAS Manager. Key Responsibilities Assist with project and service group documentation and sales proposals. Learn and demonstrate a thorough understanding of Ainsworth’s H&S Policy. Assist with site commissioning under the supervision of a BAS Technician 3 or 4. Review project contract plans and specifications, sales estimates, and take‑off sheets. Design Building Automation Systems per contract plans and specifications, including damper schedules, valve schedules, sequence of operations, bill of materials, etc. Prepare submittal documents, as‑built drawings, commission documents, and operation and maintenance manuals. Prepare panel drawings for CSA panel shops. Uphold company standards, policies, and procedures. Communicate and share resources to support the construction and service teams. Assist the project team, service team, and sales team with all BAS related work, including proposals, studies, estimates, implementation, commissioning, and related tasks. Qualifications Four‑year college/university degree, two‑year/three‑year post‑secondary engineering technology or applied science program, and/or equivalent trade/field experience; eligible for registration with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT). Valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured by Ainsworth; occasional travel may be requested and will be reimbursed including mileage. Pass security screening as required by Ainsworth’s clients. Legally entitled to work in Canada. Fluent in English – both written and oral; able to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and product documentation. Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Visio or script programming software. Willingness to work in an office environment and maintain a clean, tidy workspace; light physical duties may be assigned. Ability to perform routine tasks as assigned by the Engineering Manager.
