Geospatial Data Analyst

Geospatial Data Analyst | British Columbia, Hybrid | Earth / Environmental Science, Earth Observation, Ground Monitoring, Data Quality & Interpretation I’m partnering with a globally recognised geospatial and earth observation organisation that is expanding its analytical capability. They are seeking a Geospatial Data Analyst with a strong Earth Sciences foundation to join their Melbourne-based team, working across complex ground-based projects. This role sits at the intersection of remote sensing, geoscience, and applied data analysis. You’ll work with large-scale satellite-derived datasets, apply rigorous validation processes, and interpret results within a physical earth systems context. Outputs are delivered to clients through clear visual products, technical documentation, and presentations that translate complex subsurface behaviour into actionable insight. Geospatial Data Analyst Responsibilities Analyse satellite-derived deformation and earth observation datasets to detect, validate, and interpret ground movement trends. Apply structured validation and review processes to ensure analytical outputs meet internal technical standards. Interpret spatial patterns through a geoscientific lens, considering geological, geotechnical, and environmental drivers. Work closely with geographically distributed technical teams to refine analytical approaches and improve data reliability. Produce client-ready technical reports, visual outputs, and presentations that clearly explain findings and implications. Contribute to project planning and delivery, balancing analytical depth with commercial and time constraints. Support proposal development, technical discussions, and external engagements where specialist input is required. Improve analytical efficiency through scripting or automation to streamline repeatable workflows. Source, organise, and maintain supporting spatial and earth science datasets relevant to ongoing studies. Geospatial Data Analyst Requirements Tertiary qualification in Geology, Geophysics, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Earth Sciences, or a closely related discipline (essential). Hands-on experience working with remote sensing datasets focused on surface or subsurface movement. Strong understanding of physical earth processes, including soil and rock behaviour, deformation mechanisms, or geodynamic systems. Experience translating complex technical analysis into structured written outputs and visual materials for varied audiences. Practical experience managing analytical tasks across multiple projects or deliverables. Exposure to GIS platforms for spatial analysis and data interrogation, beyond basic mapping. Working knowledge of scripting or programming (e.g. Python) for analytical support or process improvement. Background or project exposure within sectors such as mining, infrastructure, energy, or geohazards. Comfortable operating in a client-facing or stakeholder-engaged environment. This is a fulltime position. If interested, please apply with your most up-to-date resume & I’ll be in touch #J-18808-Ljbffr
