QUINTE WEST, Canada ML6 Search + Talent Advisory Full time

The Opportunity Our client, a leading consumer goods manufacturer, is seeking a passionate and technically skilled OT Support Specialist to join their growing team. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll play a critical part in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the Operational Technology (OT) systems that keep production running smoothly. As the bridge between IT and manufacturing, you’ll help ensure the reliability, performance, and cybersecurity of advanced industrial systems — from PLCs and HMIs to SCADA and plant network infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology and operations, enjoys solving complex problems, and wants to make a tangible impact on production efficiency and innovation. What You’ll Be Doing Provide day‑to‑day support for OT systems, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and system upgrades. Monitor and maintain industrial control systems (ICS) such as PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA platforms. Partner closely with production, maintenance, and IT teams to ensure seamless integration between OT and IT networks. Manage and support industrial network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, VLANs, and Ethernet configurations. Contribute to the implementation of cybersecurity best practices within the OT environment, leveraging frameworks such as NIST SP 800-82 and IEC 62443. Maintain and update documentation, network diagrams, and change logs for all OT systems. Participate in root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement initiatives related to automation and system performance. Support the rollout of new automation technologies, system upgrades, and process optimization projects. Ensure all OT activities comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Integrate OT systems with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions like SAP or Oracle. Perform backup and disaster recovery procedures for PLC and SCADA configurations. Configure, maintain, and optimize SCADA software such as Wonderware, Ignition, or GE iFIX. Program, test, and troubleshoot PLCs, including platforms such as Allen‑Bradley ControlLogix, Siemens S7, and Omron. What You’ll Need to Be Successful Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, Computer Science, or a related discipline. Minimum 3 years of experience in an OT support or industrial automation role, ideally within a manufacturing or production setting. Strong expertise in PLC programming, with practical experience on major platforms (Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Omron). Hands‑on experience with HMI/SCADA systems, such as Wonderware or Ignition. Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP). Solid foundation in networking principles, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and firewalls. Familiarity with OT cybersecurity practices and frameworks is considered an asset. Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities with a proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset. Strong communication and collaboration skills, able to work effectively with cross‑functional teams. Highly organized and adaptable, capable of working independently in a fast‑paced, high‑demand environment. Working Conditions This is an on‑site role based in a manufacturing environment. May occasionally require after‑hours support or on‑call availability. Strict adherence to safety protocols and the use of PPE is mandatory while on the production floor. Compensation Range: $90,000 - $115,000 #J-18808-Ljbffr
