We are looking for a Bakery Clerk to join our team.The focus of this role selling our bakedgoods to customers, managing baked goods and ingredient inventories, and takingcontrol of the daily cleanup procedures in the department. This role will alsomonitor ingredient expiry dates.
A Bakery Clerk’s responsibilities include the day-to-dayoperations of the bakery, such as packaging baked goods, ensuring thatcustomers are well served in the bakery, while also helping the team withbaking and decorating tasks as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist customers with the baked goods selection to assist with purchasing decisions
- Ensure the store isclean, safe and ready for shoppers
- Weigh,price, and package purchased items
- Maintaining andbuilding various bakery department displays
- Rotation, loading andunloading of bakery department product
- Stock and replaceproducts to avoid any damages
- Keep shelves fullystocked with fresh products
- Backroom and inventorymanagement
- Track ingredient expiry dates and arranging theiruse accordingly
- Clean the kitchen and prepare it for the next day
- Performsother related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Great attention to detail
- Good communication and people skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention todetail
- Excellent time management skills with a provenability to meet deadlines
- Available to work flexible hours includingevenings, weekends, and holidays
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand during scheduled shift,withstand repetitive walking, reaching, and bending for long periods of time
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds at times
- Frequenthand coordination, bending pushing, pulling, and twisting
