Company Overview Safehaven provides high-quality, family-centered care for individuals with complex medical needs and developmental disabilities. With more than three decades of experience, Safehaven offers residential, respite, and transitional services that create lasting impact for children, youth, adults, and their families. As Safehaven enters an exciting new chapter, including the redevelopment of the flagship Bloor Street site, they are expanding the philanthropy team to grow revenue streams and prepare for a capital campaign. Position Summary The Vice President, Philanthropy & Strategic Partnerships is a critical executive role responsible for building Safehaven's revenue growth engine from the ground up. Today, Safehaven's fundraising base is limited, with significant untapped opportunity to engage new supporters, corporate partners, and community champions in our new campaign. This leader will architect the shift from a grant-dependent model to a diversified and scalable philanthropic revenue portfolio that fuels Safehaven's next stage of organizational transformation. Serving as a strategic builder and external champion, this role combines entrepreneurial leadership, partnership development, and system creation. Working closely with the VP, Philanthropy, CEO, and Board, the VP will develop the structures, capabilities, and culture required to significantly elevate Safehaven's revenue and visibility across the GTA, Ontario, and beyond. This role reports directly to the CEO and collaborates with the executive team and Board's Fundraising Committee. The VP holds decision-making authority over corporate and community revenue strategies, partnership structures, growth investments, and the staffing necessary to execute revenue plans. Core Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Build a new revenue function - including strategy, systems, talent, accountability, and culture Translate Safehaven's long-term vision into a multi-year revenue roadmap with performance indicators Create measurement frameworks and dashboards to drive visibility and accountability Partner with the VP, Philanthropy to ensure dual-engine alignment between transformational gifts and scalable fundraising growth Revenue Generation, Stewardship & Market Building Develop and launch new revenue channels: corporate partnerships, sponsorships, community fundraising Establish Safehaven's market presence where awareness is low today Lead the design of partner offerings that create new pathways for supporters to engage and give Evaluate and develop new revenue opportunities including innovation pilots and earned revenue models Deliver early wins while establishing foundations for sustained multi-year growth Partnership Acquisition & Stewardship Build and steward relationships with C-suite executives, sponsors, volunteers, and community networks Develop a partnership pipeline strategy, including increased multi-year commitments Represent Safehaven as a primary revenue ambassador at external engagements Infrastructure & System Creation Establish a revenue operating model - data insights, forecasting, CRM enhancements Drive collaboration with Philanthropy, Strategy & System Innovation and Marketing teams, to align brand with revenue priorities Support event scaling frameworks that enable Safehaven to grow quickly from a small base of supporters Implement stewardship and storytelling systems to ensure consistency and partner retention Leadership & Advocacy Serve as a public advocate for Safehaven's mission, expanding community visibility and influence Champion a culture where everyone plays a role in philanthropy Recruit, mentor, and develop a growing team aligned to future organizational needs Success Profile Bold, entrepreneurial thinker with a track record of building new revenue generating programs from the ground up Strong relationship builder with corporate networks and sponsorship fluency Strategic planner who sees both the vision and the path forward Mission-driven leader motivated by healthcare transformation and community impact Qualifications The ideal candidates will bring the vision and entrepreneurial leadership required to build the structures, partnerships, and culture that will unlock Safehaven's next stage of impact. 10+ years of progressively senior experience in fundraising, business development, or revenue leadership Proven ability to design and scale new revenue programs with measurable results Strong experience securing major gifts, multi-year corporate partnerships and sponsorships Demonstrated skill in systems creation: data, pipeline management, KPI frameworks Comfortable working in ambiguous and evolving environments while driving execution Excellent relationship-building skills with C-suite executives and community influencers Confident external communicator and persuasive storyteller Financial and analytical competency for revenue modeling, forecasting, and ROI analysis Experience leading and developing high-performing teams Experience partnering with a Board of Directors or fundraising committees Exposure to major gifts and capital campaign environments Safehaven is committed to a respectful, inclusive, equitable, accessible, and anti-racist workplace.
