HVAC/Plumber

Location: Maintenance Assigned to Electrical/Mechanical Crew

Reports to: Director of Operations

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Director of Operations and working under the general direction of the Team Lead-Electrical/Plumbing/HVAC, performs duties related to the maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and plumbing systems in buildings and all other School District property.

DUTIES

1. Inspect, evaluate, maintain, install and repair heating cooling and ventilation equipment and controls to ensure appropriate heating and ventilation levels and efficiency of performance. Equipment includes pneumatic, electric and electronic DDC systems

2. Inspect, evaluate, maintain, install and repair all plumbing systems, fire sprinkler systems, irrigation systems, septic tanks and fields, both hot water and steam heating systems

3. Perform backflow prevention inspections as required

4. Perform air filter changes on all equipment on an established schedule

5. Install drainage and pressure systems on new construction, renovations, and upgrade existing piping

6. Assist in the assessment and design of projects

7. Read and interpret blueprints, project sketches and maintenance manuals

8. List all materials to be used

9. Maintain a record of all work performed

10. Maintain tools and related equipment

11. Carry out all work order repairs for Plumbing trade and HVAC/Refrigeration trade

12. Provide backfill coverage for associate HVAC/Plumber position or Plumber position

13. Perform related tasks with all Maintenance Crews

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Interprovincial Training Plumber Certification

2. Interprovincial Training HVAC/Refrigeration Certificate or a minimum five years experience in gas fitting, HVAC and DDC systems

3. BC Gas B certificate with electrical endorsement, BC Gas A certificate preferred

4. Cross Connection Ticket

5. Boiler Electrical Qualification

6. Valid British Columbia Driver's License

7. Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written orders

8. Ability to care for and maintain related equipment

9. Physical ability to perform the required duties
