Job Summary The Global Category Manager will support our business units and stakeholders by leading strategic sourcing, negotiation, contracting and supplier relationship management for a complex portfolio of services. The role creates value by reducing total cost of ownership, leveraging world‑class sourcing strategies and mitigating risk through contract development. The manager will develop short‑to‑medium‑term category plans, gain business‑unit buy‑in and collaborate closely with internal managers, directors, officers, third‑party partners and external suppliers. Responsibilities Category Planning Develop and drive 1–3 year Global Category Management Strategies focused on identifying and contracting with suppliers aligned to current and future business needs. Collect internal stakeholders' input and market knowledge (e.g., supply market structure, competitor strategies, pricing structures, opportunities and threats). Maintain up‑to‑date Category Market Intelligence and supply‑market trends to gain competitive advantage. Implement strategy and follow‑up: tackle action items and report progress to the Associate Director, Indirect Procurement. Strategic Sourcing Prepare and execute category RFx packages, including scope, request type, internal requirements, negotiation roles, supplier list and alternatives. Hand off RFx execution to Global Indirect Sourcing Leads and ensure on‑time project delivery. Analyze total cost of ownership structures and benchmarking data to refine cost models. Negotiate and award contracts: determine optimal award alternatives and obtain approval from stakeholders. Develop business cases and present them to senior leadership. Collaborate with Contract Specialists to provide necessary contract information for timely execution. Socialize implementation plans and seek approval for savings targets, tracking negotiated savings. Business Partnering Build key relationships and position as a trusted advisor within business decision‑making bodies. Act as primary liaison between Procurement and business senior leadership. Translate business strategies into sourcing opportunities and demonstrate innovation. Collaborate with SRM Team Manage contracts and determine appropriate actions and metrics. Identify supplier innovation and continuous‑improvement opportunities. Serve as escalation point and coordinate contract issue resolution. Develop risk management and supply‑contingency plans for assigned categories. Other Duties Work safely and collaboratively to achieve outcomes. Manage multiple sourcing projects across geographies. Qualifications University graduate degree; specialization in Operations Management, Business, Supply Chain or Engineering. Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) accreditation preferred. 7+ years of relevant Global Category Management / Strategic Sourcing / Procurement experience, including at least 5 years in an Indirect Procurement function at a multinational corporation. 5+ years of in‑depth procurement best practices (benchmarking, should‑cost models, RFX, reverse auction, etc.). Experience with contract law and goods‑and‑services lifecycle management. Significant supplier relationship management and presentation skills. Collaborative partner with ability to engage business functions and stakeholders. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency with SAP, Ariba and other enterprise procurement systems, e‑sourcing and contract‑management tools.
