The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2026. Applicants must have earned a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in Adult Education or a closely related discipline, with a clearly demonstrated record of excellence in community‑engaged research and teaching, as well as experience supervising graduate students and leadership experience within a graduate program. We seek candidates whose research and teaching interests complement and enhance existing strengths in LHAE’s Adult Education and Community Development program. Candidates must demonstrate research excellence in adult education and community engagement, including expertise in one or more of the following areas as they relate to critical adult education New technologies and media Arts‑based research and practice Community health and wellness Candidates must provide evidence of research excellence as demonstrated by a record of sustained high‑impact contributions and publications in top‑ranked and field‑relevant journals, a clearly defined research program articulated in the submitted research statement, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and other noteworthy activities that contribute to the visibility and prominence of the discipline, as well as strong endorsements from referees. Evidence of excellence in teaching in a degree‑granting program is required, as demonstrated through teaching accomplishments, strong letters of reference, and the teaching dossier submitted as part of the application, including a teaching statement, sample course materials, and teaching evaluations. Candidates are expected to demonstrate in their submitted materials how they would contribute to graduate‑level program areas offered by the Adult Education and Community Development program, including the development of a new Doctor of Education (EdD) degree program. Candidates will have an established international reputation and will be expected to sustain and lead innovative and independent research, and to maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program. Other responsibilities of the position include teaching in the Adult Education and Community Development graduate program with special attention to delivering the Introduction to Community Development course, leading the development of a new Doctor of Education (EdD) degree program, supervision and mentoring of graduate students in the program, and contributing to the scholarly community and service work of the program, the Department, OISE, and the University as a whole.
