Business Analyst, non IT

Our client, a financial institution, is looking to hire a Business Analyst, Non IT to their team for an initial 6-month contract with a possibility of extension/conversion. This role is currently hybrid in Toronto. Your responsibilities include: Collect, document, and manage business requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Develop and execute test strategies, plans, test cases, and expected results in consultation with key stakeholders to ensure initiatives meet expected deliverables. Maintain superior project documentation to support auditability and project transparency. Work independently or with management to identify complex operational business issues and develop creative solutions involving workflow procedures and/or new technologies. Establish relationships with business leaders to determine optimal solutions for complex business needs. Leverage industry knowledge and expertise, as well as external service providers, to support new processes or client requests. Ensure all processes and systems comply with regulatory and compliance requirements for the industry. Maintain focus as priorities change, keeping business needs and strategic importance in perspective. Communicate changes and project updates effectively in an understandable, justified, and acceptable manner. Must Have Qualifications: 5-7 years of Business Analysis experience within an Application Management environment within the financial services industry. In-depth investment business knowledge, particularly in derivatives trading and operations, with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a Business Analyst in Derivatives/Investment IT Application Management. Strong understanding of system design, analysis, user acceptance testing, and product improvement methodologies. Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to clearly articulate business cases, motivate team members, and negotiate with cross-functional representatives. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a global setting. Nice to have: Proficiency with systems such as Aladdin, Findur, Apex is highly desirable. Experience in system integrations and implementations is advantageous. Education: University degree in Business, Finance, or Computer Science. MBA, CFA, FRM or similar certification is a plus.
