Some of these include: Competitive compensation Comprehensive benefits package Defined Contribution Pension plan Vacation Holiday closure Employee Transit EPass through Halifax Transit Job Information and Responsibilities Under the direction of the Maintenance and Operations Manager the Lead Electrician will: Establish and perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot and repair electrical lighting, security, and fire alarm systems Work closely with any outside agency required to perform work on the above systems, using such collaboration to enhance knowledge and troubleshooting expertise Assist other maintenance staff in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical security alarm and fire alarm systems and associated equipment Establish a good working knowledge of all electrical security and fire alarm schematics, drawings, and control logics within the complex Attend training sessions to keep up with technological changes in electrical and fire alarm systems Act as the lead electrician tradesperson and oversee security and emergency maintenance work necessary to maintain the electrical security and fire alarm systems; direct and coordinate the work of a group of electricians Maintain all electrical security and fire alarm systems panels, rooms, vaults, and equipment rooms in a neat, clean, and organized manner The Collective Agreement can be viewed here . Experience and Education Requirements To be the successful Lead Electrician you will have: Certified Electrical Tradesperson with two (2) years related experience in construction or maintenance Ability to work in a team environment Ability to perform all duties in a safe manner following health and safety legislation and all required safe work practices and procedures to minimize the risk of injury and property damage Ability to communicate effectively in a positive manner, conveying and responding to information Ability to interact with customers in a positive working relationship Ability to work alone and complete tasks with minimal supervision Ability to take initiative in completing tasks with minimal instruction Application Details Apply for this opportunity online through Career Beacon.
