Fitness Centre Monitor – Town of Oakville Open to all current Town of Oakville employees and external applicants. Part‑time position – up to 24 hours per week. Pay: $22.05–$27.56 per hour. Job Responsibilities Fitness Centre supervision focused on safety, etiquette and exceptional customer service. Monitoring and instructing patrons on the safe and effective use of cardiovascular, flexibility and strength training equipment. Providing Fitness Centre users with fitness information and promoting Town of Oakville programs and services. Providing fitness centre orientations and tours; cleaning, upkeep and small repairs of equipment; maintain optimal operation of center; educate customers of fitness centre etiquette. Other duties as assigned. Please note, as a certified personal trainer you are eligible to train clients who purchase personal training sessions, and will be compensated at the personal training rate when training clients. Qualifications Enrollment in or completion of a degree/diploma in a related field (i.e. Kinesiology, Fitness/Health Promotion) or equivalent background and experience is preferred. A nationally recognized Personal Training Certification is preferred. CSEP-CEP, FIS and other specialty training certificates; or equivalent would be considered an asset. Current CPR Level "C"/AED & Standard First Aid. Satisfactory criminal records check with vulnerable sector screening, dated within 30 days, is required prior to commencing the position.
