Job Title: Technical Sales Manager

Reports to: Global Water Businesses Sales Manager


Position Summary

The Technical Sales Manager will be responsible for developing, generating, and driving sales growth for the Company via direct sales to end users and distributor sales.In this role, the Technical Sales Manager will be expected to generate product sales as well as provide applications and after-sales support to customers. Domestic and international travel to existing and prospective customers as well as trade shows will be required. The ideal candidate should be goal-oriented and have a good understanding of customer services best practices with exceptional organizational skills. The qualified candidate will receive product and applications training as needed and will be based out of the Westbay office in Burnaby, BC.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets;
  • Drive day to day sales with regular interaction with direct customers and distributors;
  • Strengthen geographical market presence for the Westbay products;
  • Provide technical/application/training support to distributors and end-users;
  • Prospecting customers, following-up with sales leads, issuing quotes and/or preparing bid applications;
  • Develop, maintain, and grow the sales pipeline in order to meet growth targets;
  • Provide regular and accurate sales forecast for management reporting;
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with customer’s/decision makers/users of the instrumentation;
  • Perform product demonstrations or training as required;
  • Strong team player that is willing to support in all areas of the business as required;
  • Other duties as assigned.


Experience and Skills

  • At least 5 years of proven project sales experience in environmental, water basin management, geotechnical, geologic repository or fracking applications;
  • University degree in Environmental Science or Hydrogeology;
  • Experience working with distributors as well as with direct end users;
  • Extensive experience in project sales as well as tendering processes;
  • Proven track record of achieving and growing sales
  • Effective written and oral communication, presentation, and reporting skills;
  • Candidate must be a self-motivated, results driven and the ability to work autonomously as well as within a small team environment;


Compensation and Benefits

  • Annual base salary, depending on candidate’s experience plus commission;
  • 3 weeks annual paid vacation;
