Chief Financial Officer – University of Toronto Position 【Location: St. George campus, Toronto, Canada】 【Employment type: Full‑time, Salaried】 【Schedule: Full‑time】 【Posting date: 12/03/2025】 【Closing date: 01/26/ :59PM ET】 Overview The University of Toronto invites a collaborative, forward‑thinking leader to serve as its next Chief Financial Officer. As a member of the President’s leadership team, the CFO directs the vision and mission of the University’s financial management, reporting processes, internal controls, and institutional financial information systems. Responsibilities Lead the Finance Division in modernizing operating procedures and the technology that supports service delivery. Deliver broad‑based financial services and initiatives for the University, working with a team of more than 60 staff across financial services, procurement, and treasury. Engage the Board and senior leadership with clarity and conviction, cultivating respectful, collaborative relationships within a unionized environment. Build business partnerships that support the University’s wide range of activities, with external partners. Steer the University through a pivotal period, guiding the organization’s resources with integrity and ambition. Qualifications Advanced degree and a relevant accounting designation or equivalent combination of experience and education. Extensive record of exemplary leadership in senior financial management, preferably in a university environment or large public sector organization. Comprehensive knowledge of financial management, risk management, reporting processes, internal controls, and financial information systems. Knowledge of investment management, real estate development, debt financing, and emerging technologies in financial services is an additional asset.
