The Store Manager is accountable for developing store-specific action plans and directing all activities within the store to ensure that customer service standards and performance targets are achieved, with priorities aligned to overall store and regional strategies. The Manager will also manage budgets, labor costs, inventory control, product presentation, and merchandising. Set financial goals and communicate them to the team. Order appropriate merchandise tailored to market needs to maximize sales. Control labor and overhead costs. Monitor cash, receivables, and store controls. Maintain optimal inventory levels to maximize sales and ROI. Ensure loss prevention and shrink are well managed. Ensure solid execution of in-store activities, marketing programs, and standards in support of corporate initiatives. Present merchandise according to standards to maximize sales and profits. Drive sales through promotional offerings. Price merchandise according to guidelines. Consistently execute standards and disciplines. Develop community relations to build long-term relationships with customers, stakeholders, and political leaders. Determine sponsorships and donations for local events. Monitor customer service and address issues promptly. Lead and control store goals and standards. Develop expertise in store operations, local competition, and economic factors affecting the community. Enhance the store’s competitive position. Skills and Qualifications Minimum two years of experience in high-volume retail/grocery environment. Strong customer service skills. Proven sales and bottom-line results. Ability to interpret instructions verbally and in writing. Proficiency in Excel and Outlook. Knowledge of grocery operations. Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail. Organizational, planning, and prioritization skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Desire to understand Northern/NorthMart customers deeply. Commitment to the company’s vision, mission, and values. Motivated and adventurous, with appreciation for small-town life and cultural diversity (asset). Working Conditions Work in extreme conditions. Lift 50+ pounds.
