Job Overview: The Senior Project Manager position is responsible for providing full project management and oversight during preconstruction, construction, commissioning, and turnover to operations of one or more of Everwind’s renewable energy projects. This role is responsible for planning, execution, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance and requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a deep understanding of the renewable energy industry. Key Responsibilities: Project Management & Execution: Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to contractual agreements. Coordinate and manage all major contracts including EPC and major equipment vendors with attention on critical interfaces to manage this risk. Manage relationships with external project partners (energy off-taker, interconnection utility, equity partners, lenders, etc.) including delivery of all formal reporting requirements set out in agreements with these parties. Report on all major project activities (safety, project risks, cost, schedule, quality) to the broader company in accordance with established reporting policies. During construction, provide daily guidance and support to the project Site Manager in the execution of owner’s site responsibilities including management of owner’s site staff, safety, quality and environmental compliance, progress monitoring, coordination of contractors and major equipment supply vendors. Supporting the negotiation of contracts and agreements with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers as required. Write reports and correspondence related to project as required/requested for the purpose of updating internal and external project clients. Use project management industry best practices to provide oversight of all project activities during development, engineering, construction, and turnover activities for one or more renewable projects including the following tasks. Lead, mentor, manage and support the growth of a multidiscipline project team. Collaborate with executives and key stakeholders to drive growth and promote opportunities for improvement. Foster the professional growth of less experienced staff through knowledge sharing, l and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Champion excellence in project execution, driving high-quality outcomes across all phases of the project lifecycle. Operations & Compliance: Establish and enforce construction standards, best practices, and safety protocols. Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial, and local regulations, environmental and permitting requirements, contracts and agreement requirements and commitments and all stakeholder requirements and commitments. Financial & Budget Management: Manage all project construction budgets, forecasts, and support of cost-control measures. Manage project support activities including cost tracking, processing purchase requisitions into purchase orders, payment of invoices, etc. Monitor and report on project costs for the purpose of compliance with project budgets and projecting cash flows including variance reporting. Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Serve as a primary project liaison for the project for developers, regulatory agencies, and investors. Foster strong relationships with external partners to support project success. Support all community and stakeholder engagement required for the project with support from internal EverWind staff Provide regular project updates and reports to senior leadership and internal and external stakeholders. Qualifications & Experience: A university degree in engineering or business and a minimum of 10 years project management working experience with a material portion of that experience directly involved with major renewable energy project construction. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale projects from start to finish. Demonstrable experience in construction related aspects of renewable energy power projects including EPC and major equipment contract management, geotechnical, civil, electrical, and mechanical construction means and methods. Strong understanding of engineering, permitting, and regulatory processes in the renewable energy sector. Demonstrable experience related to worker and public safety management. Extensive project management education, skills, and experience. Strong leadership and team management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of renewable energy financing structures and Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). Experience in managing and interfacing with lenders and financing partners during execution of a project.
