Why Join This Team This opportunity allows you to be directly involved in the construction phase of significant projects in Victoria, without needing to travel to Vancouver. You will act as the firm’s trusted representative on-site, reviewing progress, liaising with contractors, and ensuring quality standards are met. For an experienced architect or technologist who values independence, technical oversight, and flexible part-time work, this role provides meaningful engagement on landmark projects in the city. What’s On Offer Flexible part-time contract position (20–30 hours per week) Competitive hourly rate based on seniority and experience Victoria-based only — no travel to Vancouver required Direct engagement on significant, high-profile projects in Victoria Collaborative support from an established Vancouver studio, while working independently on-site A professional role well-suited for an experienced architect or technologist who values autonomy and meaningful project impact Responsibilities Conduct regular site reviews and inspections to confirm compliance with contract documents, codes, and design intent Prepare detailed field review reports and track construction progress Review and respond to RFIs, shop drawings, and contractor queries in coordination with the project team Identify and resolve construction and detailing challenges directly on site Ensure BCBC compliance and adherence to municipal requirements throughout the construction process Represent the Vancouver studio locally in Victoria, maintaining the firm’s high standards of professionalism and quality Qualifications 10+ years of architectural or technologist experience in Canada, with extensive involvement during the construction phase Strong background in multi-family residential, mixed-use, or concrete high-rise projects Proven technical expertise in building envelope detailing, construction assemblies, and contract administration Clear and confident communicator with strong site presence and problem-solving ability Based in Victoria, with the ability to regularly attend local project sites Registration with the AIBC or ASTTBC is an asset but not required How to Apply Apply today or reach out directly to Dara at to learn more.
