Job Title: Senior Technical Specialist - Cloud Adoption Engineer Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Position Type: Contract Job Description: Proven expertise in application architecture , networking, security, reliability, scalability, and modern software design principles and patterns . Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure , including design, implementation, and operations of enterprise-scale cloud platforms. Strong experience with Azure core services , including but not limited to: Compute & Containers: Azure Virtual Machines, VM Scale Sets, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure App Service, Azure Container Registry (ACR) Networking: Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), Subnets, NSGs, Route Tables, Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, Azure Firewall, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Private Endpoints Data & Storage: Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Cache for Redis, Azure Storage (Blob, File, Disk), Azure Data Lake Storage Integration & APIs: Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, Event Grid, Service Bus Security & Identity: Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Managed Identities, Azure Key Vault, RBAC, Conditional Access, Azure Policy Experience implementing containerized workloads using Azure-native orchestration , primarily AKS , including deployment, scaling, and security. Strong cloud programming skills with experience developing Azure Functions, APIs, and event-driven services using Python and Node.js . Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation using: Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep Azure CLI, PowerShell, Ansible Hands-on experience with DevOps and configuration management tools , including Git, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps/GitHub, Jira, and Confluence. Strong understanding of Azure security best practices , identity and access management, RBAC design, policy enforcement, and compliance controls. Knowledge and experience with API development, AI/ML services, Data Lakes, analytics platforms , and cloud monitoring/observability , including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and Defender for Cloud. Proven ability to work effectively in fast-paced DevOps and system engineering teams using Scrum / Agile methodologies.
