Junior Engineer, Structural Engineering

Overview Type of position: Regular Your future role on our team By joining our Structural Engineering team, you’ll work with multidisciplinary teams on one or more projects, carrying out consulting engineering tasks such as design studies and preliminary and detailed engineering. You’ll help us prepare engineering documents to design structures for projects in the industrial, mining and metallurgy, energy, petrochemical, environmental, sustainable development and other sectors. Responsibilities Design concrete and steel foundations and structures Coordinate design activities with other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, etc.) Prepare estimates, technical specifications and reports Help with quality control of the work of technicians and drafters Help prepare estimates, schedules and budgets, where necessary Help plan, organize and assess work Help monitor site work, as required Assist with site inspections and surveys Perform other technical functions to support project delivery Maintain close and harmonious relationships with clients or their representatives Apply the firm’s health and safety policy and take the necessary preventive or corrective measures to perform the work safely; become familiar with the firm’s prevention program; and apply specific job directives Qualities Strong commitment to health and safety Willingness to work together while having fun Rigorous and ethical Fascination for innovation Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec Knowledge of structural analysis software Available to travel occasionally to client sites and offices Advanced level of English to collaborate effectively with offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; frequency may range from occasional to daily depending on projects Advanced level of French to collaborate effectively with offices and/or clients in Québec Asset: experience in finite element calculations Asset: dynamic structural analysis Asset: hold the ASP Construction card for health and general safety on construction sites; the firm can assist in obtaining this card Compensation and Benefits Annual base salary Annual premium program for regular employees Access to a time bank Onsite mobility premium Cellphone program Group insurance plan starting day one including short-term and long-term disability insurance for regular employees and telemedicine program Retirement saving plan for regular employees Vacation and sick leave Premium offered through the Employee Referral program BBA considers many factors to determine the annual base salary, including market, education, relevant and demonstrated work experience, technical assessment, qualifications, certifications, and other relevant competencies.
