Contract in Canada Remote (any location) - $170k - $190k MISSION The purpose of this role is to own the end-to-end publishing function for YGG Play's third-party game portfolio. The Head of Third-Party Publishing will be responsible for defining the portfolio strategy, managing the full P&L, driving commercial success for partner studios, and strategically integrating ecosystem value, utility, and retention mechanisms into all publishing activities. This role requires decision-making to build and scale the future of YGG as a Web3 publisher. OUTCOMES Within the first 3 months (Establishment & Velocity): Strategic Audit & Roadmap: Deliver a comprehensive strategy document outlining the optimal portfolio mix, target acquisition criteria, and a prioritized 12-month publishing roadmap. Deal Flow Activation: Successfully close 2 new high-potential third-party game publishing deals, establishing strong foundational relationships with studio leadership. Operational Readiness: Take full ownership of all in-flight publishing projects, identifying and resolving any immediate blockers in the development-to-launch pipeline. Within the first 6 months (P&L & Integration): P&L Ownership: Achieve all budgeted revenue and profitability targets for the managed third-party portfolio. Monetization Optimization: Implement and track concrete monetization strategies across at least 3 post-launch titles, demonstrating measurable increases in key metrics (e.g., ARPDAU, retention). Ecosystem Utility: Design and begin execution of a plan to better utilize core platform and user-driven mechanisms within publishing contracts and player engagement models, driving measurable increases in long-term player retention and ecosystem value. Within the first 12 months (Scaling & Leadership): Process Scalability: Create and enforce standardized, repeatable publishing processes that enable the team to efficiently manage a portfolio of 10+ active titles annually. Team Development: Lead a small, high-performing publishing team. Market Leadership: Establish YGG Play as a top-tier publishing partner within the Web3 gaming ecosystem, evidenced by inbound deal quality and successful launch case studies. COMPETENCIES Executive Experience & Domain Knowledge 10+ years of progressive experience in the gaming industry, with significant experience in AAA or high-growth mobile/web publishing at a Director or VP level. P&L and Budget Management: Proven experience owning and managing the full profit and loss statement for a business unit or product line. Monetization Mastery: Deep expertise in free-to-play (F2P) monetization mechanics, tokenomics, live operations, and optimizing product performance based on data. Web3 Native: Strong understanding of blockchain infrastructure, NFT utility, community-owned economies, and the competitive landscape of decentralized gaming. Strategic Execution & Leadership Visionary Decision-Maker: Able to move beyond management tasks to set long-term strategy, allocate resources effectively, and make high-stakes portfolio decisions. Founder's Mentality: Operates with extreme ownership, identifying complex, ambiguous problems and building the solution from the ground up, requiring minimal direction. Relationship Management: Exceptional skills in negotiating and maintaining executive-level relationships with third-party studio founders, C-level counterparts, and internal stakeholders. Risk & Opportunity Assessment: Highly proficient in evaluating games, analyzing market opportunities, and assessing the commercial and technical risks of partnership deals. Cross-Functional Executive: Proven ability to collaborate effectively with leadership peers across Marketing, Engineering, Data, and Legal functions to align publishing goals with overall company objectives. Clear & Compelling Storyteller: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills necessary to pitch YGG to potential partners, present strategic updates to the Board, and guide internal teams. Asynchronous Workflow: Highly effective in managing a global, remote team and communicating complex ideas clearly across time zones and asynchronous platforms. ABOUT THIS POSITION This is a fully remote position open to candidates worldwide. We are seeking someone who can operate autonomously and drive significant business impact. Must be willing to travel multiple times per year for team meetings, industry conferences, and partner visits. Flexible working hours with consideration for different time zones. The total contract value is paid via a strategically aligned mix of stablecoin and ecosystem tokens.
