Term of Position August 14, 2026 - May 03, 2027 Remuneration $20.73 per hour (and $20.73 per hour during the holiday period). Monthly pay: $437 paid bi‑monthly, plus $85.68 per semester for general expenses, plus a room in residence as a taxable benefit. Reports To Lead Coordinator, Residence Life Position Title Team Lead (TL) – Residence Life (Student Health, Wellness, and Support; Student Affairs) Purpose This is a live‑in position requiring an on‑campus presence for training, meetings, and in‑person support to students living in a University Residence environment. All live‑in members of the Residence Life team lead their communities, maintain an important presence in residence, and are available to support and engage with students at all hours. The role involves strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills, as well as integrity and flexibility. Responsibilities Lead teams of Community Advisors (CAs) and Living Learning Community Advisors (LLC‑CAs) where applicable. Mentor, coordinate, and provide resources to support team members with challenging student cases. Manage coverage schedules and time‑off requests. Coordinate programming requirements and be available for additional support. Conduct regular rounds, conflict resolution, report facility‑related issues, and emergency management with the support of a peer‑team and Lead Coordinators. Respond to highly sensitive situations requiring confidentiality and strong stress‑management skills. Support CAs in completing *Roommate Agreements* with assistance from the *Shared Living Guide*. Conduct monthly individual in‑person interactions with CA team members. Organize monthly in‑person building‑wide events to foster community and engagement. Assist with peer and professional staff‑led events, projects, and initiatives (e.g., Move‑In, Open House, Study Fest, Carousel interviews, Move‑Out). Contribute to campus‑wide knowledge sharing and Residence Life education, training, and hiring projects. Respond to operational needs as required, fulfilling tasks related to the CA role. Prepare communities for new residents each semester (door tags, welcome boards, staff information boards). Update passive programming boards monthly (except December and April). Review and provide feedback on community events planned by CAs (monthly). Coordinate and host monthly building‑wide events, managing schedule and budget. Organize and lead events and programming targeting other Residence Life student staff each semester. Support alternative programming initiatives during key periods (Fall Welcome Week, Panda Game Day, Halloween, Winter Welcome Week, Saint‑Patrick's Day, etc.) using a harm‑reduction approach. Remove all posters and passive programming from communities at the end of the employment contract. Support students with conduct and care peer conversations and follow‑up in residence as informed by training. Time Commitment and Training Total of 555 hours to be worked based on a 37‑week academic year (mid‑August to April inclusive). Average of 15 hours per week, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holiday periods. Available to work evenings, on‑call on a rotating basis, and weekends. Mandatory training sessions in‑person and online: Start of Contract Training: Two weeks in August before the Fall semester, or in January before the Winter semester if hired for the Winter semester. Ongoing Training: One five‑hour training commitment each semester (includes a lunch break). Mandatory Online Training as determined by Residence Life and the University.
