Job Overview Senior Claims Adjudicator: Manage living benefits insurance claims and guide them to resolution from eligibility assessment through recovery support. What You’ll Do Build strong relationships with advisors, working collaboratively to facilitate the claim experience. Manage living benefits insurance claims and analyze medical information. Assess claims for benefit entitlement by reviewing contractual, medical, functional and occupational information. Collaborate with advisors, clients, health‑care practitioners and other stakeholders to obtain information, provide claim status updates, create action plans and issue verbal and written decisions while maintaining confidentiality and privacy. Demonstrate empathy. Prioritize work items to meet client service standards and Sun Life best practice guidelines. Identify opportunities to improve processes and contribute to a dynamic work environment. Communicate clearly and proactively with clients, advisors and professionals, and manage expectations effectively. Evaluate opportunities for process improvements and actively participate in team initiatives and projects. Requirements French & English bilingualism required for frequent interactions with English and French‑speaking colleagues. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to handle sensitive inquiries. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology. Experience in handling Critical Illness, Long‑Term Care and/or Individual Disability claims. Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills. Attention to detail. Team player with a positive attitude and commitment to provide outstanding quality service. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Proficiency with Word and Excel. College diploma, university degree, CEGEP degree or relevant experience. Assets Education involving anatomy knowledge (e.g., nursing, kinesiology). Individual insurance product knowledge. LOMA courses and FLHC designation or dedication to attain it. Benefits Comprehensive benefits package including: Medical, dental and life insurance. Paid vacation. Tuition assistance.
