Your Opportunity The Combined Laboratory & Xray Technologist I is a working level position utilizing technical skills and judgment performing a diverse range of diagnostic procedures within the Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Cardiology and Specimen Procurement departments, within the scope of practice of a CLXT. Applicants must be able to work independently and perform all aspects within the scope of practice of a CLXT from sample collection to testing/resulting in all of the above-mentioned disciplines. Lacombe Hospital is an acute care hospital with a busy emergency department as well as acute care, day surgeries, restorative care, palliative and long-term care departments providing service for the Community and surrounding area. The successful applicant will be required to present to the hospital for callback within 30 minutes. Lacombe is a Lab only site. This position is being posted as both MLT and CLXT, only one position is available. Description As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist I, you will perform procedures in both the laboratory and in diagnostic imaging, typically in rural sites. You will work as a member of the inter-professional team and be responsible for collecting and analyzing biological specimens, conducting X-ray examinations, ECGs and reporting results. Your responsibilities include preparing patients, venipuncture and micropuncture, routine equipment maintenance, maintaining supplies and performing quality control procedures as required. Job Details Classification: Combined Lab/X-Ray Tech I Union: HSAA FAC PROF/TECH Unit and Program: Laboratory Primary Location: Lacombe Hospital & Care Centre Location Details: As Per Location Multi-Site: Not Applicable FTE: 0.40 Posting End Date: 24-NOV-2025 Employee Class: Regular Part Time Date Available: 04-DEC-2025 Hours per Shift: 7.75 Length of Shift in weeks: 12 Shifts per cycle: 24 Shift Pattern: Days, Evenings, Weekends, On Call Days Off: As Per Rotation Minimum Salary: $35.45 Maximum Salary: $46.69 Vehicle Requirement: Not Applicable Required Qualifications Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technologists (ACCLXT). Additional Required Qualifications Laboratory experience includes hematology, expanded chemistry, coagulation and urinalysis including microscopic analysis. Recent cardiology experience including ECGs. Current phlebotomy experience including venipuncture, micro puncture, blood culture and Type and Screen on all ages and patient types. Proven interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required. Excellent public relations and a service-oriented manner are essential. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with patients/clients, families, staff, inter-disciplinary team members and personnel from other departments in a fast-paced and changing environment. Proven analytic and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, logical/methodical work habits, and demonstrated ability to work independently are required. Candidate must be well organized and flexible. This is a Lab only position and does not include Diagnostic Imaging. Preferred Qualifications Connect Care Epic, Unity Real Time, WellSky, MUSE and TIMS experience and knowledge is preferred. Minimum 2 years' experience in a healthcare setting is preferred. Familiar with Ortho Vitros XT 3400, DxH 600, Clinitek Advantus, Access 2 and ACL Elite Pro instruments. #J-18808-Ljbffr
