Who we need Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, we are hiring a Director, Real Estate and Facilities, to lead the planning, management, and stewardship of all Yorkville University and Toronto Film School facilities. As our new Director, you will oversee a diverse real estate portfolio spanning three provinces, which includes campus operations, leased and owned properties, as well as construction and renovation projects in British Columbia, New Brunswick, and Ontario. You will play a central role in planning and executing our transition to a unified Toronto-based campus, partnering closely with a third‑party design firm and collaborating with academic, operational, and executive teams. You will spearhead the short and long‑term strategies to build out our campuses in B.C. and Fredericton, NB. How you will make an impact Lead and deliver – Oversee all real estate projects, vendor relationships, budgets, and project work. Oversee operations – Manage day‑to‑day operations of owned and leased properties. Plan strategically – Develop and execute long‑range plans anticipating future growth and infrastructure needs. Ensure compliance and safety – Partner with the Director of Safety and Security to meet or exceed all applicable laws and codes. Manage budgets and resources – Accountable for operating and capital budgets, procurement and financial reporting. Drive excellence in facility management – Conduct inspections, monitor maintenance and evaluate vendor performance. Evaluate opportunities – Assess real estate opportunities that support expansion and enhance experience. Champion culture and values – Contribute to a positive, inclusive, collaborative culture supporting equity, wellness and continuous improvement. What you bring The educational background – Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Real Estate, Project Management or related discipline. The commitment to excellence – Strategic foresight, operational discipline and continuous improvement mindset. The leadership experience – Progressive real estate, facilities or construction management experience including purchasing, RFPs and vendor oversight. The operational expertise – Understanding of building codes, compliance frameworks and operational realities in academic settings. The project management acumen – Managing concurrent projects, cross‑functional teams, tendering, contracting, scheduling and vendor management. The financial and technical proficiency – Managing CAPEX & OPEX budgets, negotiating leases, fiscal accountability; proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management tools. Compensation philosophy At Yorkville University and Toronto Film School, compensation is fair, straightforward and supportive of growth. The minimum annual salary is $130,000, midpoint $140,000, maximum $160,000. Base salary is part of a broader package that includes paid time away, retirement savings matching, extended health coverage with 80% premium paid and tuition‑free access to education programs after 12 months.
