Strategic Communications Lead

Canada Coeuraj Management Inc. Full time

This role is not focused on traditional consumer marketing or mass-market campaigns. Instead, it is about strategic communications and thought leadership, shaping narratives, publishing insights, and creating content that positions Coeuraj as an expert in complex areas such as capital investment, multi-stakeholder alignment, and systems thinking. The focus is on influencing peers, industry leaders, clients, and partners rather than attracting a broad consumer audience. Success in this role is measured by the quality, clarity, and impact of the ideas you communicate, rather than by metrics such as sales conversions or social media impressions. This is a hands-on, mid-senior role accountable for the full communications cycle, from concept and content creation to refinement and finally publishing. The ideal candidate brings both strategic insight and the ability to execute directly. This role sits across the organization and will collaborate with all three Coeuraj departments. It’s a dynamic position that connects multiple team perspectives to produce coherent, high-quality communications. You will work directly with the CEO and a dedicated graphic designer to create visually compelling materials that align with Coeuraj’s strategic priorities and brand identity. The Strategic Communications Lead will work directly with senior‑level executives at Coeuraj to: Develop and execute an integrated marketing and communications strategy that elevates Coeuraj’s profile and thought leadership. Translate complex ideas and research into compelling, accessible narratives for diverse audiences. Identify, write, and publish thought leadership content, including articles, white papers, op‑ed, and multimedia formats. Proactively pitch and place Coeuraj stories, acting as a publicist to open doors with publishers, journalists, and industry partners. Design and manage social media strategies relevant to our industry and audience. Collaborate closely with client teams to surface and tell stories that highlight impact, outcomes, and learning. Support proposal development and client communications with clear, compelling, and well‑crafted content. Steward and evolve the Coeuraj brand, ensuring consistency across all platforms and materials. Communicate effectively to both U.S. and Canadian audiences, with a keen understanding of the tonal and cultural nuances required in each market. Technical / Professional Skills Exceptional copywriting and long‑form narrative writing ability. Experience developing and executing brand and communications strategies. Ability to translate complex models and systems into an accessible language. Strong storytelling skills, and an instinct for finding the “red thread” in client and project stories. Familiarity with brand and product architecture. Comfort with a range of publishing formats (digital, print, audio, video). An appreciation for design and how visuals enhance communication. Core Competencies Adaptive capacity: thrives in ambiguity and shifting contexts. Systems thinking: sees patterns, interconnections, and opportunities for clarity. High creative metabolism: able to work at pace, balancing multiple priorities with focus and resilience. Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills: able to build relationships across teams, clients, and external partners. Strategic mindset coupled with a hands‑on, execution‑driven approach. Proactive self‑starter who is comfortable leading projects independently while still collaborating with others. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or brand strategy roles. Experience navigating both Canadian and U.S. markets is considered a valuable asset. Demonstrated success in publishing thought leadership and strategic content (articles, white papers, op‑ed, reports). Experience in consulting, professional services, or adjacent industries preferred. Proven track record of pitching and placing stories in relevant media outlets. Experience collaborating with senior executives to shape and develop compelling content that reflects organizational voice and vision. Experience working with contractors and vendors to produce specialized marketing and communications outputs (bonus if you bring an established network of collaborators). Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and see them through from concept to completion. Why Join Us? At Coeuraj, you’ll be part of a collaborative, mission‑driven team that believes in the power of human interaction to shape better futures. This role offers the opportunity not only to market a company, but also to advance a movement toward systems‑level change. Some other perks include: A work environment where you can be your whole and honest self. We’re interested in how you will add to our existing culture and help shape our future. A generous annual allowance for staff to use to create and maintain a safe and comfortable workspace at home. Encourage and incentivize all staff to seek professional development opportunities that support their learning and growth. A flexible time‑off policy that allows all staff members to take the time off they need, alongside a company‑wide 2‑week paid closure at the end of December. Extended health benefits, including a wellness spending account and an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Location & Other Details This remote position is open to candidates who are based and legally allowed to work in Canada. Preference will be given to candidates based near Toronto, Ottawa, Victoria or Vancouver. Applications will be accepted from October 16 to November 14, 2025. We will start conducting interviews as early as October 29 and continue on a rolling basis until the application posting window has closed. The aim is to fill the position by December 2025. Because we understand that great relationships aren’t formed overnight, we want to ensure that time is taken on both our end and the candidate’s to get to know each other honestly. This means there will be a multi‑stage interview process clearly outlined for shortlisted candidates. To apply, please submit the following to your email A cover letter outlining how your experience and skills align with this role. A writing sample that best demonstrates your ability to communicate complex ideas clearly (example: a published article, a white paper, an op‑ed or similar work). Please indicate your current city and province of residency in your application. Please ensure that your full name is included in each of the file titles (example: First Name+LastName+CoverLetter+Coeuraj+Date). If you are interested in exploring this opportunity, please email us at with your resume, a writing sample, and a cover letter that highlights the value you can bring to the role. We are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive interview experience. Please let us know if you require any accommodations to participate fully in the interview process. The salary range for this position is $90,000 – $120,000 CAD per year, based on experience. This range reflects flexibility in recognizing that candidates may bring different combinations of strategic, creative, and executional expertise. A candidate with strong foundational skills who is eager to grow into the full scope of the role may fall toward the lower end of the range. In contrast, someone who brings deep experience across all dimensions of the role, from strategy and content creation to publishing and media engagement, may be considered at the higher end. While we may consider more senior candidates above this band, this remains a roll‑up‑your‑sleeves role, ideal for someone energized by shaping strategy while also executing directly. There will not be a team to manage in the near term, but the position does offer potential to grow in scope and influence as Coeuraj continues to expand. #J-18808-Ljbffr
