The Opportunity Leavitt Machinery is looking for a Government and Municipal Major Accounts Manager to join our team in Brampton, Ontario . As the Government and Municipal Major Accounts Manager you will be responsible for developing, managing, and expanding strategic relationships with federal, provincial, municipal, and public-sector entities. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Own and grow a portfolio of major government and municipal accounts across materials handling equipment, rentals, service, parts, and training Develop long-term account plans aligned with customer procurement cycles, fleet strategies, sustainability goals, and budget constraints Serve as the trusted advisor to procurement officers, fleet managers, public works leaders, and facilities teams Lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, standing offers, cooperative purchasing agreements, and sole-source justifications Coordinate pricing, specifications, compliance documentation, and value-added proposals Negotiate contract terms, service-level agreements (SLAs), escalation clauses, renewals, and amendments Ensure adherence to public-sector procurement rules, ethics standards, and audit requirements Partner with service, rental, parts, operations, and finance teams to ensure successful contract delivery Required Skills & Qualifications 5 to 10+ years of experience in B2B sales, major accounts management, or public sector contracting Experience in materials handling, heavy equipment, fleet services, industrial equipment, or capital equipment strongly preferred Demonstrated success selling into government, municipal, utilities, transit, public works, or crown agencies Strong understanding of public-sector procurement processes (RFP/RFQ, standing offers, cooperative buying) Prior CRM and ERP system experience strongly preferred Strong communication skills including excellent written communication skills for formal tender responses Team-oriented and strong business development acumen Benefits & Perks Company paid medical health care plan for you and your dependents Dental plan, vision plan, and prescription drug coverage Annual health care spending account Life insurance, short term disability, and travel insurance Sick leave plan – 100% employer paid Employee assistance programs RRSP matching Ongoing professional development opportunities Company phone and laptop Company vehicle and gas card The base pay for this role is: $40,000 plus an initial bridge salary and uncapped commission.
