Kieswetter is looking to hear from motivated individuals who have experience estimating in civil construction, particularly sewer and watermain projects, along with a strong civil background. The Estimator will be an integral part of the estimating team, interacting with ownership, staff, project managers, and clients. This is a full-time role with benefits. The key position will prepare accurate and competitive bids while maintaining our high standards of quality and integrity. Responsibilities Work with staff, clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Perform tasks in all aspects of estimating; take off, market research. Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for sewer and watermain projects, earthmoving, and other various civil projects. Analyze contract documents, specifications, and drawings to develop accurate takeoffs. Identify project risks and opportunities during the bidding process. Coordinate with project managers and field supervisors to incorporate practical construction methodologies. Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing. Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather critical project information. Prepare detailed bid submissions and participate in client presentations when required. Liaise with clients, build trustworthy relationships. Update projects as/when needed. Qualifications Knowledge of Bid2Win Software. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite. 3+ years experience in civil construction, with specific knowledge of sewer and watermain projects preferred. Strong understanding of underground utility construction methods and challenges. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills. Ability to read and interpret detailed civil engineering drawings and specifications. Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulations for underground infrastructure. Civil Engineering Technology diploma or related degree an asset. What Sets You Apart Experience with large diameter watermain installations. Knowledge of earthwork, concrete, and hardscape methods.
