It’s a key ingredient that gives strength to concrete so that it doesn’t crack, ensuring buildings and infrastructure remain strong and stable for years to come.
Join our team AGR Rebar is currently seeking a shear operator.
Here’s what you need to know about the role:
Full-time, permanent position;
Day shift, Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 1:30 PM;
Starting salary at $20/h. (3-12 months: $22.17, 12-24 months: $24.29, 24-36 months: $25.34, +36 months: $26.39)

Physical Activity Reimbursement: $600 annually for physical activities to promote health and wellness;
Main Responsibilities:
Operate machines safely and be aware of risks and procedures involved when working in a rebar shop;
Assist machine operators, assemblers, and other team members;
Accurately use machinery software;
Work on machines cutting and bending rebar;
Clean machines and work areas;
Regular inspection of machines prior to the start of shift, immediately identifying any machinery irregularity and reporting directly to the maintenance technician to reduce the cost/risk of machinery downtime;
Act in compliance with AGF’s Health & Safety policies following the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
Other duties as assigned;
About You: The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience.
1-2 years of experience in a similar role in manufacturing;
Basic math/measurement skills (an asset);
Ability to learn various types of manufacturing equipment;
Ability to work physically – lift/move up to 50lbs;
Willingness and capacity to work outside in varying weather conditions, and perform physical work;
Good communication skills, Multi-tasking and a strong capacity for teamwork.
