Overview Estimator - Structures and Civil Engineering Works role at Pomerleau This role supports the Pre-Construction team in estimating large-scale building and infrastructure projects, ranging from about $1.5 million to upwards of $1 billion. You will work closely with the proposals team and client groups to secure bids and ensure project success. Responsibilities Contribute actively to the bid process cycle. Identify project-specific pricing for labor, equipment, and materials. Accurately interpret technical specifications with a keen eye for detail. Perform thorough quantity take-offs to ensure precise contract specifications and pricing. Maintain a focus on client pricing requirements to ensure project feasibility. Cultivate strong relationships with trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals. Explore innovative solutions and opportunities within the scope of the project. Qualifications 3 to 5 years of relevant estimating experience in the construction industry, with knowledge in Structures and Civil Engineering Works. A university degree, college diploma, or certificate in engineering or construction management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A proven track record in project coordination and team collaboration. Experience in building relationships with industry and project stakeholders. A comprehensive understanding of the bid process cycle. Strong research skills for identifying and analyzing project-specific expenses. Expertise in quantity take-offs to ensure accuracy in contract specifications and pricing. Solid computer skills, especially with estimation software.
