Total Compensation & Benefits Pay Rate: $100,00 - $137,500 per annum Eligible for 3% - 6% Annual Incentive Bonus Stock Purchase Plan 3 Weeks Vacation Health Care Benefits + $600 Health Care Spending Account Employee Engagement Events (Employee BBQs and lunches, weekly treat day, etc.) Employee Development Programs Major Duties In this role you are a key technical team member and contributor responsible for developing engineered solutions for the nuclear industry. This role combines engineering analysis, structured design, commercial acumen, leadership, and cross-functional coordination to deliver proposals that win complex, capital automation projects. You will liaise with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Customers, and other internal & external partners to define solutions, build cost structures, manage risk, and ensure proposals are delivered on time and on budget while maximizing capture rate and competitive advantage. Specific Responsibilities Proposal Management — Lead end-to-end proposal development using established engineering methods from opportunity qualification through approval, with support as needed as part of project execution. Analyse and interpret customer technical, operational, and business requirements to define accurate engineering scope and solutions. Define system architectures, machine breakdown structures and Bills of Materials (BOMs), capture cost estimates, and perform risk assessments aligned with engineering standards, as well as other tasks as needed. Identify, evaluate, and manage technical, commercial, and schedule risks throughout the proposal lifecycle. Team & Cross-Functional Management Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, including internal and external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and external partners. Facilitate pre-bid alignments, technical reviews, and bid review meetings with internal stakeholders. Support knowledge transfer from proposal to project execution teams to ensure successful project launch and continuity. Commercial & Financial Accountability Develop comprehensive proposal budgets, including labour, materials, purchased equipment, and third-party supplier costs. Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure competitive, high-quality solutions. Present proposed solutions, technical summaries, risk profiles, and cost models to senior management for approval. Customer Engagement & Sales Support Engage directly with customers through calls, site visits, technical reviews, and proposal presentations. Assess existing manufacturing processes and automation environments to tailor solutions that deliver measurable value. Participate in sales strategy development and actively support pursuit planning and competitive positioning. Uphold the team and company’s reputation by communicating with integrity and professionalism. Continuous Improvement & Strategic Initiatives Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities and support the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with colleagues and other business units to deliver solutions. Support special projects aligned with engineering, innovation, sales, or marketing initiatives as required. Additional Information Education Bachelor’s degree or post-secondary diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Equivalent experience in advanced automation environments will be considered. Experience Seasoned professional with a demonstrated ability in developing proposals for complex automation or capital equipment projects, preferably within automation, manufacturing, and/or Nuclear industries. Strong understanding of automation systems, robotics, machine controls, and manufacturing processes. Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with detailed technical execution. Demonstrated success in competitive bid environments and cross-functional leadership roles. Required Skills & Competencies Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (or equivalent) and 2D CAD tools Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools is mandatory Strong financial and analytical skills Willingness to learn new skills Exceptional written, verbal, and executive-level presentation skills Highly motivated, self-driven, innovative, results-driven, and able to work in both individual and group environments Ability to influence stakeholders, lead without authority, and drive decisions in fast-paced environments Health & Safety All employees have the responsibility to work in a healthy and safe manner, report health, safety or environmental concerns, and participate in the safety culture of the organization.
