Esri Canada has an exceptional opportunity for a Manager, Content & Social Media in our Marketing team, based anywhere in Canada.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing, the individual in this role will focus on shaping and executing Esri Canada’s content and social media strategies to meet business objectives.
This person is also an expert at using LinkedIn as a platform to reach targeted audiences in a B2B environment. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this senior role will be responsible for planning, creating, curating and delivering compelling content that engages target audiences in support of brand building, awareness and lead generation, as well as customer retention.
Manager, Content & Social Media responsibilities include:
Team Management
- Manages a team of marketing communications specialists and content developers.
- Takes leadership of communications strategies and plans while participating in content development and identifying the best platforms to maximize impact and outreach.
Content Strategy:
- Develops content strategies to increase brand awareness and customer engagement.
- Plans, creates, delivers and governs content across Esri Canada’s marketing communications channels, which include the website, blog, email and social media.
- Work with stakeholders in marketing and various lines of business to understand the needs of the target audience, set content goals and determine the types of content to produce (e.g., blog posts, videos, podcasts, infographics, social posts and emails) in support of marketing initiatives, product launches and updates, and thought leadership.
- Oversee customer success story program including gathering of customer stories from internal and external sources;
- Manage a team of specialists, as well as suppliers, who produce written, graphic, video and audio content.
- Optimize content for search engine optimization (SEO), ensuring content is consistent with brand messaging and is relevant and valuable to the audience.
- Create and maintain an editorial calendar to deliver timely content across various digital platforms.
- Monitor, analyze and report on content performance metrics, including overall website traffic and engagement rates, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Conduct regular audits of content to keep Esri Canada’s website and resources hub up to date.
- Work closely with the company’s website team and industry leads to ensure content is relevant, organized and easily accessible.
- Stay updated with industry best practices, emerging trends and evolving content formats to continuously enhance content marketing initiatives.
Social Media Strategy:
- Develop a strategy for using social media platforms for B2B marketing, with a special focus on LinkedIn, to achieve marketing communications goals and grow Esri Canada’s presence on LinkedIn.
- Select the right social media channels, create and maintain a social media calendar, and engage with online audiences.
- Guide the company’s execution of paid social media and search to maximize ROI.
- Grow followers, increase engagement and drive traffic to Esri Canada’s website or other content.
- Nurture social selling behaviour in the company and support social selling by regularly feeding content to the company’s employee advocacy platform.
- Other duties as assigned.
Specific Skill requirements:
- 10+ years of demonstrated experience as a content and social media manager or strategist, preferably in a technology B2B environment.
- Excellent written, verbal, editing and storytelling skills with a strong command of English grammar. Proficiency in creating impactful and visually appealing presentations.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to create high-quality, engaging, SEO-friendly content across digital platforms in a high output environment.
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) like Adobe Experience Manager and social media tools like Hootsuite.
- Advanced expertise in social media marketing, particularly using LinkedIn. LinkedIn Certified Marketing Expert designation is a plus.
- Experience using analytics tools like Google Analytics to monitor content performance and make data-driven decisions.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and keyword research tools.
- Familiarity with content distribution and amplification strategies, including social media advertising and influencer marketing.
- Understanding of user experience (UX) principles and content design best practices.
- Experience in senior people management, with a track record of hiring, developing, and mentoring high-performing teams.
- GIS knowledge or understanding of geospatial industry is highly desirable.
- University degree or college diploma in marketing, communications, journalism or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.

La ou le gestionnaire, Contenu et médias sociaux devra mener à bien les tâches suivantes :
Gestion d’équipe
- Gérer une équipe de spécialistes des communications marketing et de développeurs de contenu.
- Mener à bien des plans et des stratégies de communication tout en participant à l’élaboration du contenu et en déterminant les meilleures plateformes pour maximiser son effet et sa portée.
Stratégie de contenu
- Élaborer des stratégies de contenu pour accroître la notoriété de la marque et l’engagement lié à la clientèle.
- Planifier, créer, fournir et gérer le contenu des canaux de communications marketing d’Esri Canada, notamment le site web, le blogue, les courriels et les médias sociaux.
- Gérer une équipe de spécialistes, ainsi que des fournisseurs, qui produisent du contenu écrit, graphique, vidéo et audio.
- Optimiser le contenu pour les techniques de référencement en veillant à ce que le contenu soit cohérent avec le message de la marque et qu’il soit pertinent et utile pour le public.
- Créer et maintenir un calendrier éditorial afin de fournir un contenu opportun sur les différentes plateformes numériques.
- Développer une stratégie d’utilisation des plateformes de médias sociaux (surtout LinkedIn) axée sur le marketing B2B en vue d’atteindre les objectifs de communication marketing et d’accroître la présence d’Esri Canada sur LinkedIn.
- Sélectionner les canaux de médias sociaux adéquats, créer et tenir à jour un calendrier de publication, et interagir avec les publics en ligne.
- Effectuer les autres tâches qui lui sont confiées.
Formation, expérience et aptitudes nécessaires
- Au moins dix ans d’expérience en tant que stratège ou gestionnaire de contenu et de médias sociaux, de préférence dans un environnement technologique B2B.
- Excellentes compétences en matière d’écriture, d’expression orale, d’édition et de narration, ainsi qu’une grande maîtrise de la grammaire anglaise. Maîtrise en ce qui concerne la création de présentations percutantes et visuellement attrayantes.
- Expérience et capacité avérées à créer du contenu de haute qualité, attrayant et adapté au référencement sur les plateformes numériques dans un environnement à forte production.
- Maîtrise des systèmes de gestion de contenu (SGC) comme Adobe Experience Manager et des outils pour médias sociaux comme Hootsuite.
- Expertise avancée dans le domaine du marketing par médias sociaux, surtout sur LinkedIn. Certification de spécialiste en marketing de LinkedIn, un atout.
- Compréhension des principes de l’expérience utilisateur (EU) et des meilleures pratiques en matière de conception de contenu.
- Connaissance des SIG ou compréhension de l’industrie géospatiale, vivement souhaitée.
- Diplôme universitaire en marketing, en communications, en journalisme ou dans un domaine connexe. Maîtrise, un atout.
