Release & Deployment Lead

**Reports to:** Manager, Cloud Ops & Security**Location:** Stouffville, ON**Salary:** $75,000 - $85,000* Execute new software installations at customer sites and remote environments* Perform system upgrades and version migrations with minimal downtime* Conduct database migrations, schema updates, and ensure data integrity throughout the process* Deploy containerized applications using Docker and orchestration platforms* Configure software to meet specific customer requirements and environments* Validate deployments through comprehensive testing and verification procedures* Coordinate deployment schedules with customer stakeholders and IT teams* Provide technical guidance and support to customers during deployment activities* Conduct pre-deployment environment assessments and readiness checks* Deliver post-deployment training and knowledge transfer to customer teams* Troubleshoot deployment issues and provide timely resolution* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience* 3+ years of experience in customer-facing software deployment or field engineering* Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell)* Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Docker Compose)* Working knowledge of Git version control and branching strategies* Understanding of SDLC frameworks (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD concepts)* Experience with basic automation tools and configuration management* Knowledge of various operating systems (Windows Server, Linux distributions)* Understanding of networking concepts, firewalls, and security protocols* Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V)* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid deployments* Excellent customer service and communication skills* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities* Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure* Professional demeanor and ability to represent the company effectively* Strong documentation and technical writing skills* Ability to adapt to diverse customer environments and requirements* Continuous learning mindset to stay current with deployment technologies* Experience with automation frameworks (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)* Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)* Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms* Background in database administration or data engineering* Experience with infrastructure monitoring and logging tools* Industry-specific knowledge relevant to our customer base* ITIL or project management certification>>At Portfolio+ Inc., our people are our greatest assets.
