Senior Electrical Designer

Position Summary We’re seeking a full-time, permanent Senior Electrical Designer with a minimum of 4+ years of experience in the building engineering industry to join our office in Kelowna, BC. The candidate should be familiar with a variety of institutional, municipal, healthcare, commercial and residential building projects. The candidate will be responsible for design, tender and construction phase services on various projects. We will be asking that you also participate in developing company policies, including design standards, project management development and quality control procedures. Responsibilities Coordinate with contractors, architects, and engineers to produce project requirements and designs; Consult with other suppliers and contractors to clarify specifications; Evaluate supplier proposals and deliverable documentation; Ensure that engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, analysis, Class D Cost estimates) comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices; Conduct site visits to obtain an understanding of existing conditions, site constraints, and other challenges; Assist the project management team with the preparation and reviews of electrical reports; Prepare specifications for electrical equipment; Mentor and assist electrical designers; Participate in the weekly project review meeting and staff capacity management; Qualifications Degree in Electrical Engineering; 4+ years of experience designing electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, life safety and communications in BC; Experience with tender document packages and production of drawings and specifications; Experience with applicable codes and standards such as (but not limited to) CEC, BCBC, VBBL, etc.; Excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit; Exemplary interpersonal skills; Strong verbal and written communication skills; P.Eng is an asset; Pay $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year Additional Pay Overtime pay; Dental care; Extended health care; On-site gym; RRSP match; Experience Local (BC) Electrical engineering: 4+ years (preferred); Seniority Level Mid-Senior level Employment Type Full-time Job Function Engineering and Information Technology #J-18808-Ljbffr
