Manager, P&L – Scotiabank Requisition ID: Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Compensation: $100,000.00–$125,000.00 per year (2025). Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level. Employment type: Full‑time. Job function: Other. Industry: Banking. We are looking for a Manager of Product Control who will provide P&L and Accounting support for Global Equity business. The role includes reporting, attribution, risk analysis, valuation, reconciliations, balance‑sheet substantiation, and the maintenance of business performance and control MIS. Key Responsibilities Produce and report daily P&L, confirming integrity through risk‑based attribution. Reconcile daily P&L to front‑office expectations and the general ledger; coordinate resolution of any breaks. Ensure daily reported P&L is reconciled to the Bank’s General Ledger and associated source system sub‑ledgers. Orchestrate month‑end close sign‑off and submit MIS package. Develop and implement processes for valuation and accounting of equity and derivative products. Produce, review, and analyze independent price verification (IPV), reserves, and fair value adjustments as required. Support other financial reporting needs. Assist managers and senior managers in establishing support for new products or business in a controlled manner, engaging with front office, risk management, operations, finance, audit, and regulators. Required Skills and Experience Experience with valuation, risk analytics, and accounting of equity and derivative products. Minimum 1–3 years in financial analytics, risk management, or accounting functions, ideally in a fund‑accounting firm or financial institution. Strong problem‑solving skills and proficiency with Excel. Python, VBA, SQL skills an asset. Progress in CFA or CPA an asset. Strong communication skills and ability to learn quickly. Solid understanding of bank accounting policies, trading policies, market practice, regulatory requirements, and risks associated with capital‑market products.
