About the Department The Department of Mathematics and Statistics is part of the Faculty of Mathematics and Science. It offers a BSc Honours program in Mathematics and Statistics (with co‑op), an MSc with Math and Statistics streams, a joint PhD with the Department of Computer Science, and a new Data Science and Analytics BSc. The department emphasizes computer applications through its MICA program, training for future math teachers (BSc/BEd), and an interfaculty Data Science initiative. About the Position The Faculty of Mathematics and Science invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning July 1, 2026. Responsibilities • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to statistics and data science.• Supervise undergraduate and graduate students.• Develop and run a successful research program that attracts external funding. Qualifications • PhD in Statistics with expertise in statistical theory and its applications (e.g., non‑parametric methods, design of experiments, regression, sampling, multivariate analysis).• Proven record of teaching, supported by evidence of high‑quality instruction.• Strong research agenda with potential to secure external funding.
