Infrastructure Security Engineer Carleton University invites applications for the role of Infrastructure Security Engineer , an essential position within the Information Security & Governance Department. This full‑time role focuses on ensuring the design, performance, and integrity of the university’s enterprise‑wide information security systems and infrastructure. Responsibilities Support the operational design and performance of enterprise‑wide information security systems and infrastructure. Maintain and enhance SIEM solutions, L2 switching technologies (STP, trunking, LACP, VPC), and routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPFv3, BGP). Administer network security devices, including Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, and network load balancers (F5‑LTM, F5‑ASM). Implement and manage network authentication services such as LDAP, RADIUS, TACACS, ISE, and RSA Secure ID. Oversee server operating systems (Windows, Linux) and manage vulnerability and risk assessments. Collaborate with university units to ensure alignment of security practices with institutional policies and procedures. Qualifications Knowledge of information security system policies, procedures, and processes. Experience with Oracle, SQL, programming, scripting, and operating system practices. Understanding of university academic units, departments, and divisions. Proficiency with office productivity software, databases, and enterprise software. Expertise in SIEM, L2 switching, routing protocols, network security device administration, load balancing, authentication services, and server operating systems. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, or related field. Minimum of six years of experience in information security, network, and systems infrastructure.
