Senior DevOps Engineer – Toronto/Ottawa Location: Toronto/Ottawa | Department: Engineering | Reports To: SVP/Director of Engineering | Employment Type: Full-time | Seniority Level: Mid‑Senior level About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team and take ownership of our infrastructure strategy, automation pipelines, and system reliability. You’ll drive DevOps best practices and collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and high‑performing systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and has a strong technical background in modern technologies. Key Responsibilities Maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments Maintain AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation Deploy and maintain critical applications on cloud‑native microservices architecture Manage migration and tech stack upgrades in AWS Improve system observability, monitoring, and incident response Partner with development teams to ensure smooth deployments and high availability Implement security best practices, including secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and compliance enforcement Evaluate and introduce new tools and technologies to optimize performance, scalability, and automation Define SLAs, SLOs, and KPIs for critical services and ensure reliability goals are met Provide pager duty and on‑call support for 2 weeks per month Qualifications 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or related roles Strong experience with AWS services (IAM, EC2, EKS, VPC, ELB, ALB, Auto Scaling, Lambda) Experience maintaining and deploying highly available, fault‑tolerant systems at scale Experience implementing CI/CD with tools such as GitHub Actions Operational experience (e.g., HA/Backups) and NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Redis) Proficiency in scripting or programming language in Python Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog or New Relic Experience with IaC tools like Terraform or Pulumi Experience with security practices and compliance standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.) Excellent communication and leadership skills Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience What We Offer Competitive salary and equity packages Health, dental, and vision insurance Learning and development budget A collaborative, growth‑oriented engineering culture Why Join Us We are committed to driving innovation in FinTech with disruptive technology and a focus on building new products.
