This position will be responsible for the pre-sales activities of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) with an emphasis on preparing conceptual design drawings in AutoCAD and supporting proposal development.The Senior BESS CAD Designer will work closely with the applications and business development teams to help develop proposals for new storage project opportunities and provide technical support to respond to customer needs.**What You’ll Be Doing as a Senior BESS CAD Designer*** Analyze RFP or other customer documentation to determine project scope and technical requirements, with an emphasis on project drawing requirements. Able to read and understand client single line diagrams and layouts.* Prepare conceptual design packages including single-line diagrams (SLD) and layouts in AutoCAD for Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects based on size models prepared by Applications Engineers.* Prepare feeder configuration, and cable schedules based on the size model and SLD/Layouts.* Prepare and maintain a set of drawing templates for various Battery and Inverter configurations.* Support in preparing technical documentation for proposals and coordinate the bid package preparation with other departments.* Work closely with Applications Engineering, Project Engineering and Procurement teams to ensure complete and shared project understanding and priorities.**What It’s Like to Work Here**At e-STORAGE, you’re more than just an employee—you’re part of a team that values your ideas, your background, and your unique perspective. A certificate in drafting is considered an asset* 3+ years’ experience in system design of PV or BESS projects.* Technical aptitude including the ability to read and fully understand engineering schematics, spreadsheet calculations and RFP documents.* General understanding of North American electrical codes (NEC/CEC) and UL/CSA standards related to energy storage and grid-interactive inverters.* Global perspective and awareness, and direct experience working across diverse cultures in a multinational company would be beneficial.**Education*** Diploma or certificate in Drafting, CAD, Electrical Engineering Technology.
