Job Description Position Highlights: One of BC Hydro's key business priorities is to ensure proper Cyber Security programs are defined and in place to protect its Assets from threat actors. BC Hydro is continuing to strengthen its internal Cyber Security programs and is looking for highly qualified, self-driven individuals with highly developed analytical, collaboration and communications skills to contribute to this important business objective. What you’ll do This position will be responsible for Cybersecurity of the Operational Technology (Industrial Control System (ICS)) part of the BC Hydro system and will work in close collaboration with their counterparts in Information Technology (IT). OT assets span across the entire BC Hydro power system—from generation stations to transmission lines, to distribution stations and systems as well as telecommunication sites located across the province. As an OT Cyber Security program expert embedded within the Transmission Technology Operation group, you will help develop and improve existing Cyber Security programs for the OT assets at BC Hydro. You will provide direction and education to business areas and maintain expertise. You will also develop and maintain knowledge of BC Hydro's program methodologies, policies, and published practices. This work is closely related to the Mandatory Reliability Standards (MRS) programs at BC Hydro, so you will also work closely with them. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of 5 Engineers/Project Managers that interacts with internal and external stakeholder resources in delivering a number of projects or initiatives related to Cyber Security. You may report directly to the Manager, Operation Technology Telecom systems for the first 6-12 months and later be moved to one of his direct reports teams. Duties include: Developing, implementing, and maintaining procedures, programs, processes, internal controls, work instructions and reports, associated with the assigned standards to ensure ongoing OT Cyber Security programs are well defined and executed. Working collaboratively across the organization to ensure consistent practices and procedures are being adhered to related to the assigned Cyber Security policies and standards. Assessing the training, change management and engineering/field support requirements for OT Cyber Security. Maintaining knowledge and awareness of industry practices and trends associated with Cyber Security. Acting as technical and/or process lead for OT Cyber Security. Assessing implications of new and revised OT Cyber Security Programs, providing comments, and developing estimates of cost and resource requirements related to OT Cyber Security. Verifying and communicating alignment with Cyber Security Policies and Standards. Participating in annual risk-based Cyber Security reviews. Managing and leading incidents, investigations and mitigations plans related to OT Cyber Security. Communicating technical issues to diverse audiences including senior leaders and executives. Leveraging and/or advocating for systems and tools that support more effective and efficient Cyber Security programs. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other relevant field such as Engineering (electrical, P&C or telecom preferred). 10-12 years of relatable work experience with a minimum of 8 years in Cyber Security and Network/systems administration. Preference given to candidates with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Cyber Security related to OT assets (Protection Relays, Telecom Systems etc) as well as a strong knowledge of P&C (Protection, Control and Automation) concepts. However, transferable experience may be considered. Demonstrated experience on developing, managing or supporting Cyber Security OT programs (e.g., patching programs, password controls or threat assessment). Demonstrated P&C design experience or P&C maintenance experience is considered an asset for this position. Working knowledge of some MRS standards can be an asset for this role. Effective communication, presentation skills, including the ability to convey complex technical or procedural issues to diverse audiences. Strong relationship management, collaboration, and interpersonal skills. Understanding of audit requirements, including the ability to analyze compliance quality, accuracy and adequacy. Experience in program or Project Management.
