Team Overview The Partnerships Group manages corporate and regional relationships, driving results with domestic and international financial institutions, private‑equity firms, alternative lenders, and other organizations. The Enterprise Partnerships team seeks a Partnerships Director for our Canadian Financial Institutions team. The role leads EDC’s corporate engagement and strategic business development with Canada’s leading financial institutions, overseeing a portfolio of relationships with senior leaders in major banks. What You Will Be Doing Senior partnership relationship management, reporting to the Director or Enterprise Partnerships team. Lead development and execution of partnership plans at the corporate level, building alignment to drive EDC’s and partners’ business objectives. Accountable for motivating, delegating, and ensuring business results through clear KPIs and objectives. Build and maintain trust‑based relationships with Head Office contacts at major Canadian financial institutions. Engage proactively with executive sponsors and senior leaders at both EDC and partner institutions. Prepare briefing notes and onboarding materials for EDC executives ahead of key meetings. Champion high‑impact objectives from concept to adoption, inspiring cross‑functional teams. Serve as subject‑matter expert for EDC’s BD financial institution partnerships, representing EDC at market events. Collaborate closely with senior internal stakeholders from business development, product, risk, compliance, and operations teams. Occasional business travel required. What We Are Looking For Undergraduate degree in International Business, Commerce, or related discipline. Minimum of 10 years business development or B2B partner relationship management. Minimum of 10 years experience in international business management or corporate lending. Established network of senior Head Office level contacts in Canadian financial institutions. Experience leading corporate‑level initiatives in a matrixed environment. Strong strategic mindset, influencing skills, and relationship management. Strong understanding of EDC’s lines of business, value proposition, and mandate. What Will Make You Stand Out Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) designation. Knowledge of financial institution credit and lending practices, particularly in Corporate Banking/National Accounts. Knowledge of international business practices and trade. Bilingual in English and French. Business development experience driving partnership deliverables. Experience in B2B partnership management including negotiations, corporate strategy development, and new opportunity development. Eligibility EDC commits to Fair Employment Practices.
