We're looking for a Junior Hydrogeologist with a specialization in groundwater modelling to join our Ontario Hydrogeology Team, located in one of our GTA (Toronto/Mississauga/Kitchener/Barrie) or Ottawa, ON offices. You will provide numerical modelling support for various hydrogeological, environmental, and engineering investigations related to multi-disciplinary development projects. Overview Junior Hydrogeologist with a specialization in groundwater modelling to join the Ontario Hydrogeology Team in GTA or Ottawa offices. Provide numerical modelling support for hydrogeological, environmental, and engineering investigations on multi-disciplinary development projects. What you’ll do Work with interdisciplinary project teams on highly complex projects, challenging your current knowledge and helping you develop skills with some of the best in the industry. Develop and implement numerical groundwater flow models for a wide range of projects, including: Large-scale open pit and underground mining operations Regional and local hydrogeological assessments Municipal source water protection studies Dewatering assessments for infrastructure projects Compile field and other data for interpretation and analysis Collaborate with intermediate and senior hydrogeologists to provide technical services on mining and infrastructure projects. Provide technical support and complete hydrogeological analyses, visualizations, and contribute to the development of conceptual site models. Work independently and in teams under the direction of senior specialists in related disciplines. Prepare technical documents and reports; assist with development of project proposals. Demonstrate a strong focus on Safety and follow WSP and client health and safety procedures. What you’ll bring A Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Hydrogeology, Environmental/Earth Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Specialization in groundwater modelling through coursework or thesis preferred. Eligibility to register as Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT), Engineer-in-Training (EIT), Certified Technician (C.Tech.), or CET in Ontario. Experience with hydrogeological analysis and numerical modelling tools (e.g., MODFLOW, FEFLOW, HydroGeoSphere; AQTESOLV or similar is a plus). Experience using Python and SQL for data analysis. Strong computer skills including MS Office; excellent time management, communication, problem solving, writing, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be a team player capable of collaborating with staff, subcontractors, and clients. Willingness to learn new systems and skills independently.
