We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Procurement Sourcing Partner to support the sourcing and procurement needs of various departments within Definity, such as Claims, Technology Solutions, and Indirect Spend (Corp. Services, HR, Finance, etc.). What can you expect in this role? Strategic Sourcing and Contract Negotiations: build and execute sourcing strategies for complex and/or high-dollar engagements that include leading RFx / competitive bid processes, supporting contract negotiations with vendors to deliver value and savings to the organization; financial reviews and cost comparisons; external market and vendor analysis; establishing category strategy; collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand business needs; liaising with external vendor partners; creating and delivering presentations to senior leaders and executives; collecting artifacts and completing internal documents to conclude sourcing events (e.g. contract summaries). Contract Management: in partnership with Legal Services, act as the liaison between internal clients and vendors to resolve problems, establish new contracts, renewals or terminations, and interpret terms to address gaps; plan the contract lifecycle to identify renewals and address compliance concerns. Risk Management: in partnership with second line risk functions, assess and mitigate risk; ensure robust documentation and risk registration across the vendor lifecycle; awareness of applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., OSFI B-10). Relationship Management: develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendor partners; collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and identify strategic sourcing opportunities. Project Management: facilitate information gathering sessions with stakeholders, establish reliable schedules for priority projects, manage multiple priorities, and present on sourcing activities, supplier performance, cost savings, and related metrics to senior and executive management. Category / Industry Knowledge: conduct market research and supplier evaluations; monitor trends and opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and risk mitigation. Technology Sourcing: experience with cloud computing, software, data, AI, and hosting. Indirect Sourcing: experience supporting stakeholders in Human Resources, Professional Services, Corporate Services, Finance, and Marketing. Additional responsibilities include maintaining performance metrics and ensuring proper governance of procurement activities. What do you bring to the role? Insurance industry experience would be preferred. 7–10 years of experience in a similar role with direct experience in negotiating and drafting agreements. Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills; a data-driven, analytical approach to decision-making. Ability to develop executive-level presentation materials; strong project management, organization, and prioritization abilities; capability to work in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with procurement tools including dynamic sourcing tools, auctions, spend analytics, procure-to-pay, contract lifecycle management, vendor management, and third-party risk management. Post-secondary education (university degree or college diploma); CSCMP designation is an asset but not required. French language proficiency is beneficial but not required.
