Overview As a Senior Software Engineer on the Product Team at Qualified, you will tackle technically challenging problems by building exceptional products and enhancing processes and technology. You will work on integrating LLMs, embeddings, and other AI technologies into our product offerings, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible to deliver innovative features and user experiences. You will own the end-to-end delivery and success of features—from coding and testing to deployment, monitoring, and customer rollout—while maintaining high standards of engineering and code quality. You will collaborate with customers to gather feedback and continuously improve products to meet user needs effectively. Responsibilities Develop customer-focused applications by building new features, improving existing ones, and creating new products. Utilize advances in machine learning, LLMs, and other AI technologies to enhance products and deliver delightful user experiences. Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Designers, and Platform Engineers to ideate and develop mission-critical applications. Conduct rapid prototyping and iterative development to enhance AI solutions based on performance and user feedback. Ensure core functionality is stable, scalable, well-maintained, and continuously improving. Grow technical skills to tackle challenges related to quality, performance, robustness, and reliability. Mentor engineers and set standards of engineering excellence. Support and scale highly-available, high-traffic services essential for customers’ time-sensitive needs. Qualifications Technical Skills 3+ years of professional full-stack software development experience, with recent focus on AI/ML technologies. Expertise in building modern web applications front-to-back. Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Python, or Go. Experience with object-oriented programming, systems design, and large-scale, low-latency systems. Experience using frontier-scale LLMs (e.g., GPT, Claude, Gemini) programmatically is a plus. Experience with SQL and RDBMS (PostgreSQL preferred) and data warehousing. Strong software engineering practices, including coding, unit testing, code reviews, and design documentation. B.S. or higher in Computer Science or equivalent experience. Business Skills Passionate about crafting innovative, user-centric solutions and making a tangible impact. Curious about engineering beyond immediate discipline with interest in applied AI. Driven by creating elegant, intuitive, and user-friendly products. Self-directed, independent, and experienced in owning complete features and products. Willing to tackle challenges as the team grows rapidly. Proactive in sharing thoughts; value open communication.
