B. Cross Memorial Hospital offers 24-hour emergency care. The hospital also has a total of 41 inpatient beds. There is a 28 beds Medicine/Surgery unit. This includes two palliative care rooms, each having its own adjoining private family area. There are also 8 OBS beds, 1 pediatric bed, and 4 ICU beds. Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial Hospital offers a range of programs and services. Wayfinding signage is displayed throughout the hospital. Position Details: Position: Full-Time Security GuardSite: Dr. G. B. Cross Memorial HospitalOvertime: Overtime after 48 hoursHours: As neededPayrate: $19.00Posting Date: October 2nd, 2025Internal Closing Date: October 20th, 2025External Closing Date: October 20th, 2025 Schedule Example: As required Key responsibilities: Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site. Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities. Access Control: Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas. Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations. Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures. Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally. Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns. Collaboration with Hospital Staff: Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved. Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards Prerequisites: Valid vulnerable sector and criminal record check Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor) Covid Vaccine two doses Valid class 5 Driver License English (oral and written) fluency is a must Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred. Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite; however, Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability Why choose Paladin?
