Your goal will be to ensure seamless operation and integration of networking systems through collaboration with vendors and internal IT teams. Your success will be defined by the reliability, performance, and security of the company’s network environment.**Please note that this position will require occasional shift flexibility and after-hours work.****What We Offer:*** **Work Environment** – Work onsite in our beautiful home office building with access to a fitness facility, onsite nurse, and a café.* **Competitive Compensation** – Includes an annual bonus plan, pension plan, and parking allowance.* **Flexible Benefits Plan** – In effect from day one and offers three levels of coverage to select from to meet your unique, personal needs.* **Paid Vacation** – There is an annual option to purchase additional vacation, too* **Wellness Support** – With an annual wellness allowance, paid personal care days and a 24/7 Employee & Family Assistance Program* **Opportunity to give back to some amazing causes in our community** – Choose when and where to make an impact with a paid volunteer day, company volunteer opportunities, and a donation-matching program**Your Responsibilities:*** Working with our teams to Implement, troubleshoot, and support network devices including switches, routers, access points, and other network devices* Working with our various teams; monitor, analyze, and report on availability of critical business systems including performance and service stability* Ensuring that network performance is monitored for bottlenecks, connectivity, capacity, and utilization* Technical escalation point: working with vendors to troubleshoot any concerns or activities related to the network and quickly determine resolution of technical issues impacting customers both external and internal* Working with the security team to proactively mitigate any security threats and /or network attacks and responsible to oversee vendors during the installation, configuration, and integration of new infrastructure, e.g. routers, switches, etc.* Working with our vendors and internal IT teams to manage hardware and software implementation to ensure they integrate effectively with other technologies through careful analysis of current system environment* Prepare status and activity metrics to track delivery of IT services, planned and unplanned system outages, other key IT performance metrics and manage testing, debugging, analyze performance, and document technology components* Work with various stakeholders to accomplish IT based projects and also working with vendors and other external service providers to ensure hardware and software standards for network, servers, databases, wireless technology, file & print services, etc. are being met* Provide after-hours support if required and ensuring that after hours maintenance windows are properly coordinated to all stakeholders**Your Skills:*** Excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills with an ability to quickly identify and mitigate problems* Proactive in identifying possible issues and putting actions in place to prevent issues* Ability to navigate a fast-paced, ever-changing environment that operates under tight deadlines and an ability to set priorities based on business and stakeholder needs* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal and strong relationship building skills required* Client focused with excellent customer service skills**Your Experience:*** Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, with 8+ years of IT experience including 5+ years supporting and implementing enterprise-level networks* Proven expertise in complex networking systems and technologies including LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and cloud platforms like Azure; hands-on experience with Cisco and telecom products* Familiarity with security protocols, compliance standards, and monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark); certifications such as CCNA, Fortinet, F5, and ITIL are considered assets*Irving Oil is committed to supporting a diverse and inclusive work environment.
