Role Overview Emergency Physician for the Kootenay Lake Hospital (KLH) Emergency Department located in Nelson, BC. This rural ED sees 40‑60 patients daily and offers a flexible workforce model with 5–12 shifts per month, enabling work‑life balance and opportunities to complement ED duties with community roles. Responsibilities Provide emergency medical care to 40–60 patients per day in a busy rural setting. Participate in on‑call coverage for obstetrics & gynecology, pediatrics, internal medicine, and general practice anesthesia. Assist with teaching and mentorship of residents and medical students on site. Contribute to departmental quality and safety initiatives with a flexible schedule and community partnership model. Qualifications Canadian family physician, CCFP‑EM or equivalent with a strong interest in emergency medicine. Eligibility for 5–12 shifts per month and support for a flexible full‑time/fractional work model. Benefits Alternate Payment Plan (APP) compensation.
