Intelligent Wellhead Systems (IWS) is currently seeking a full-time, permanent Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team. IWS designs, tests, manufactures, and deploys proprietary and unique digital safety and efficiency workflow technologies for oil and gas well completions operations. IWS is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. The ideal candidate will engage in close collaboration with design engineers to develop comprehensive drawing packages for electrical control equipment. This position is essential in facilitating manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include actively participating in prototyping new electrical equipment, documenting as-built drawings, and contributing to the preparation of equipment and relevant documentation for field trials.


Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborate closely with design engineering to develop comprehensive drawings packages for electrical control equipment.
  • Provide support to internal and external manufacturers in the construction of electrical equipment, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications.
  • Build prototypes for new electrical components, conduct testing, and generate accurate as-built electrical drawings.
  • Aid in the assembly and preparation of equipment and associated documentation for field trials.
  • Conduct research, procure, and evaluate electrical components in alignment with design engineer' specifications.


Experience

  • Electrical Engineering Technology degree.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of practical experience in designing and constructing electrical components.
  • Experience in CSA/UL industrial control panel standards is essential.
  • Extensive experience in AutoCad is required . Familiarity with SolidWorks is an asset.
  • This role involves approximately 25% travel to equipment sites across Canada and the United States.
