Overview We are seeking a strategic Senior Contracts Procurement Manager to lead our contract management function and forge supplier partnerships. The Senior Contracts Procurement Manager at Instacart will serve as a key point of contact, enforcing our enterprise-wide strategy, governance, and execution of procurement contracting. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, this role drives business-term negotiations, ensures seamless partnership with organizations such as Legal and Third Party Review (TPRM), and delivers measurable value through risk-adjusted, cost-optimized agreements. The Contracts Senior Manager balances commercial agility with rigorous compliance to enable Instacart’s scalable growth. About the Job Governance Develop and enforce procurement contract policies, playbooks, and templates in lockstep with our counterparts in orgs such as Legal, Third Party Risk (TPRM), Finance. Support KPIs (contract cycle time, compliance rates, etc) and present routine performance. Maintain clean documentation and support SOX/internal audit processes. Business-Term Negotiations Personally lead business term negotiations for strategic, high-value or high-complexity contracts through the full procurement contract lifecycle. Securing optimal outcomes in areas such as SLAs, scope, exit clauses, payment terms, auto renewals, etc. Partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure contracts meet business needs. Translate business requirements into enforceable contract language while preserving supplier relationships. Exceptional communication skills with ability to explain contract terms clearly to stakeholders. Cross-Functional Partnership Establish yourself with stakeholders as the frontline of contracts and information security - buffering any inquiries that currently go directly to our Legal and TPRM teams. Partner with legal and help develop criteria for contracts that could be executed without Legal engagement, reducing redline cycles by 50% though pre-approved clause libraries. Collaborate with legal on developing and maintaining fallback positions. Highlight any redlines outside of our fallback positions to Legal for their review. About You Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Law, or related field; JD strongly preferred 10+ years in procurement/contract management Proven track record closing complex, multi-year deals with global Tier-1 suppliers. Deep experience embedding information security and data privacy terms into commercial agreements. Prior in-house collaboration with General Counsel and CISO offices. Master negotiator comfortable at the executive table; able to articulate ROI of contractual positions. Proficiency with CLM platforms (Ironclad), Procurement platforms (Zip) Executive presence with exceptional communication, influence, and change-management capabilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a high-growth tech or marketplace environment, such as e-commerce or Saas platforms #LI-Remote Instacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work.
