The Role We are seeking a technically talented professional who can align internal teams with external forces. A great opportunity to grow with Thermon. You will collaborate as a key member of the team supporting our operations to meet challenging project budgets and schedule targets for manufacturing projects. The Manufacturing Engineer at Thermon is a self‑starter who works toward implementing an overall strategic plan. Performs engineering work related to designing and developing of equipment and processes to support the manufacturing of Thermon's products while supporting the lean initiatives of the organization. You will be reporting to the General Manager, you will be based out of our manufacturing facility located at 1 Hunter Valley Rd, Orillia, ON L3V 6H2. What You Will Do Lead efforts to develop new process technology to support manufacturing of existing products and implementing new product designs into production. Be accountable for and own detailed execution processes behind manufacturing orders/projects with the support of our operations team Complete special project/tasks and duties as assigned associated with product and equipment design and testing. Present in weekly project performance reviews with the operations team for your project(s) and identify risks/challenges to insure accurate resource forecasting, successful completion, and customer satisfaction Own in continuous improvement initiatives with other teammates across our operations to drive optimal organizational processes Move to top, this is the primary objective of this roll Prioritize own work to meet required schedules and product release deadlines. Support lean activities that may include working towards six‑sigma initiatives. Complete weekly and monthly Progress Reports and various other reports as needed Support the daily requirements of production including but not limited to: Process deviation request Process Engineering Change Requests to procedures and drawings Provide technical support to quoting and estimating on product and manufacturing information Support Codes and Standards (e.i. API, NFPA) Support the improvement of production KPIs: OTD, First pass yield, NCR pareto, Shop efficiency Provide technical support to drafting on product and manufacturing routers. Write and update manufacturing procedure, engineering procedures and installation instructions Support Supply Chain Department in the development/training of new and existing suppliers Design tools, poke‑yokes and equipment Provide training for production personnel on manufacturing processes Process Returned Material Requests Coordinate training and standard manufacturing processes with remote site Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business needs Knowledge And Experience Engineering degree with 7-10 years relevant experience Strong Project Management experience: excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Lean Manufacturing experience. Green belt or Black Belt Preferred Expert level in Microsoft Office suite of tools, especially excel Extensive knowledge of production principles and techniques. Proficient with computer‑aided drafting (CAD) software. Solidworks Preferred ERP system knowledge (AX dynamics preferred) To be successful in this role you will possess Self‑Motivated, willing to learn, able to build and develop relationships with managers on production floor and other executives Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and comfortable with directing and evaluating tasks/activities to supporting team members Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to assess problems or issues with manufacturing equipment. Practical knowledge and use of scheduling tools such as MS Project (I do not use this except for capex projects which are rare) Experience in manufacturing, electrical or automation industry Experience with assembly and sheet metal operations Experience supporting a high mix, medium volume manufacturing or job‑shop organization Proficiency in presenting information to management and customers Drive to understand how things work We wish to thank all applicants for their interest, however, only those invited for an interview will be contacted.
