Job Description: Omniply is looking for an epitaxy scientist to work with academic collaborators on growth optimization of III-V epitaxial layers for opto-electronic microdevices like LEDs towards fabricating the next generation displays. We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in growing epitaxial layers of III-V semiconductors using MBE or MOCVD, and characterization of these layers.
Desired Skills: PhD or previous postdoc experience in epitaxial growth of GaAs, GaN, InP etc class of materials.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D in electrical engineering, physics, material science, chemistry, engineering physics or related STEM fields.
- 2+ years of experience in epitaxial growth, device fabrication, and characterization methods
- Extensive knowledge and experience in developing and optimizing growth parameters using MBE or MOCVD
- Self-motivated and creative/innovation.
- Data-driven with strong documentation and reporting skills.
- Good analytical/modeling skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Work with our academic collaborator to optimize growth conditions of epitaxial GaN and AlN based materials, including the deposition of device layers for opto-electronic devices
- Characterization of epitaxial layers for understanding of defect densities
- Fabrication and characterization of devices on the epitaxial layers
- Participate in the development of process conditions for Omniply’s products and create SOPs for different processes and experiment designing.
- Effectively communicate the results to the Omniply’s management
- Document the results in comprehensive technical reports
